first series I worked with using toning and paper negatives with conventional black and white photo materials extensively.
This was a real revelation for me for my work in photography as
it allowed me to begin to introduce some of the beauty and subtlety
I had found in printmaking into the photo process. I've always been interested in moving beyond the simple, straight photograph. The addition of color through various toning methods and a pronounced sense of texture and even markmaking enables the creation of more dramatic environmental effects than one can achieve with direct photographic techniques.
